ABUS at OB/GYN Associates of Erie
OB/GYN Associates of Erie offers ABUS (Automated Breast Ultrasound) at our Peach Street location. These exams can help find cancers in women with dense breasts that may be missed by a regular screening mammogram.
Automated Breast Ultrasound uses Invenia ABUS 2.0, the only ultrasound technology FDA-approved for breast cancer detection in women with dense breasts. Unlike 2D or 3D mammography, which uses radiation, ABUS screenings use sound waves to create pictures of the breast. The exam lasts approximately 15 minutes and provides our in-house radiologist with clear, 3D ultrasound images. An ABUS exam, in addition to your regular screening mammograms, will help provide a more complete evaluation of your dense breast tissue.
